Telangana retains #6 in SKOCH State of Governance 2022

Highlights

• Telangana ranks #6 nationally in the SKOCH State of Governance Report 2022.
• Total of 40 well-performing projects qualified for SKOCH Order-of-Merit, out of which 5 were highly impactful and 10 were impactful projects.
• State performed very well in 13 categories.
  1. Topped in Food & Civil Supplies and Geology & Mining categories nationally.
  2. Consistent in performance in Power & Energy category.
  3. Participating first time in Ease-of-Doing Business, Rural Development and Animal Husbandry & Fisheries and entered in the top 10 nationally.
  4. Recovered in Agriculture, e-Governance and Skill Development.
• Power & Energy and e-Governance have submitted a larger number of projects for evaluation. Out of these, several well-performing projects were qualified as highly impactful and impactful projects.
• Key achievements
  1. Telangana bagged 40 SKOCH Orders-of-Merit in the SKOCH State of Governance Awards 2022.
  2. Almost half of these are in Power & Energy and e-Governance.
  3. Four SKOCH Orders-of-Merit were in Ease-of-Doing Business, and Rural Development each.
  4. The state won three and two SKOCH Orders-of-Merit in Police & Safety and Irrigation respectively.
  5. The state won 15 awards – five in GOLD and ten in SILVER category.

• Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Ease-of-Doing Business, e-Governance, Food & Civil Supplies, Geology & Mining, Irrigation, Power & Energy, Rural Development and Skill Development are the sectors that have seen enhanced focus in 2022.

• Compared to its score and rank in 2021, Telangana has shown an improvement in score and maintained its rank in 2022.
