Haryana has ranked #12 in the SKOCH State of Governance 2021 report card. The Top 5 states are classified as ‘Star States’. The next 5 states are classified as ‘Performer States’. The next five states are listed in the ‘Catching Up’ category. The remaining states are catalogued as ‘Others’.
Haryana has shown some progress from 2020 to 2021, rising up from the #14 spot in 2020 to the #12 spot in 2021. For the last four years, Haryana has managed to secure a rank in the Top 15 states in the country in the SKOCH State of Governance rankings. Haryana was at the #14 position in 2018 before climbing up to #9 in 2019 and then losing a few places in 2020.
The state continues to be one to watch out for, on the path of development and good governance, as evidenced by its performance in various administrative sectors in 2021. Haryana has done well in many sectors, placing in the Top 3 in Ease of Doing Business, Finance & Revenue, Health, Sanitation and Power & Energy while also ranking at #7 for Police & Safety.
