Uttarakhand, often referred as Devbhumi (Land of the God), has taken impressive measures for public grievance redressal, strengthening education and transport system. Uttarakhand is in Emerging category .

Uttarakhand, often referred as Devbhumi (Land of the God), has taken impressive measures for public grievance redressal, strengthening education and transport system. Uttarakhand is in Emerging category in this year’s SKOCH Governance study. The State won 5 SKOCH Orders-of-Merit.

Key Achievements

Chief Minister’s Office has put in place Public Grievances Monitoring System (PGMS), with an objective to bring accountability, efficiency and transparency in the government system. It monitors grievances made by any department, individual etc. When a new grievance comes, it is entered and an ID is generated that is unique for each grievance. All 170 public grievances department are connected to administration data center through SWAN.

The Government has also implemented Integrated Finance Monitoring System (IFMS) with a view to curb corruption and make the system more transparent. The system is conceived to provide the online data to the portal wherein multiple users get access to various services or reports. It is used not only for finance monitoring but also for re-engineering the business processes of food and civil supplies. The new system has made these functions transparent, prompt and hassle-free.

Commercial Tax Department with support from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Uttarakhand has put in place a system of Online Issuance of Permit for Hassle-free Import of Goods.

Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has automated examination and recruitment process. Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, an autonomous body of the Government of Uttarakhand, has developed a web-portal compliant with Ease-of-Doing Business programme. The web-portal has been integrated with the Single Window System of the Department of Industry.
