Assam slipped to #11 in the SKOCH State of Governance 2022

Highlights

• Assam ranks #11 nationally in the SKOCH State of Governance Report 2022.
• Total of 25 well-performing projects qualified for SKOCH Order-of-Merit, out of which 7 were impactful projects.
• State performed very well in 13 categories.
  1. Topped in Transport category nationally.
  2. Participating first time in Labour, Tourism & Culture, Forest, Sports & Youth, Skill Development and Women & Child Development. and entered in the top 10 nationally.
  3. Recovered in e-Governance, Finance, and Health.
• District Governance submitted a larger number of projects for evaluation. Out of these, several well-performing projects were qualified as impactful projects.
• Key achievements
  1. Assam bagged 25 SKOCH Orders-of-Merit in the SKOCH State of Governance Awards 2022.
  2. Almost half of these are in Finance, Forest, and District Governance.
  3. Two SKOCH Orders-of-Merit were in Health, Skill Development and e-Governance each.
  4. The state won 7 awards – two in GOLD and five in SILVER category.

• Most states have a large number of projects at the District and Municipal levels
• Most states tend to retain or improve their annual ranks
• Police and Power & Energy tend to submit a larger number of projects
