Key Achievements

Higher education landscape in Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been transformed with the introduction of single window admission system. Till last academic year, the applicants were required to apply to individual colleges. With the introduction of single window admission system, now only one application is needed for all the colleges under the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Admission for the academic year 2017-2018 would be fully administered through the new system.

An integrated portal has been set up for the single window admission. The portal facilitates digital application replacing the otherwise vast manual paperwork system adopted in the old admission process. This has resulted in elimination of redundant activity, process simplification in terms of data flow, analysis, transparency and thus creating a paperless environment, which has indirectly benefited the environment.

A separate Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) is framed and finalised for candidate, CSC and College and uploaded in the portal for easy understanding of the procedure for filling up of online admission forms by candidates. They need to apply for admission just once. He/she fills in the details and preference for course and college. Based on various selection criteria, a merit list for individual institutions are automatically generated for each course.
