Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank (CGGB), is transforming rural banking in Andhra Pradesh by merging financial inclusion with advanced technology. Focused on agriculture and priority sectors, CGGB channels 90% of its advances toward marginalised communities, benefiting over 450,000 people. Its innovative schemes, such as the Rythanna Nestham Loan and gold loans, empower farmers and women led SHGs, fostering economic independence and rural upliftment.

Responding to the Prime Minister’s call for digital transformation, CGGB expanded its digital services from nine to 21 by January 2024, setting a benchmark among Regional Rural Banks.

Services like video KYC and loan automation simplify processes, enabling swift account openings and reduced manual intervention. With tools like the CGGB Money2app and UPI integration, over 50% of its 20 lakh customers now engage in digital banking, facilitating 3lakh transactions daily.

Security remains paramount, with a Cyber Security Operations Center ensuring 24/7 data protection. Multilingual support and training initiatives ease the rural population’s transition to digital banking, building trust and confidence.

CGGB’s focus on inclusion and innovation has boosted agricultural productivity, supported MSMEs and improved living standards, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals. It is now aiming to expand into renewable energy and education, further transforming rural banking making it a catalyst for equitable growth and societal impact.
