Rajasthan, the country’s largest State by area, has taken several initiatives in the areas of e-Governance, health and environment protection. Rajasthan is in Emerging cateogry in this year’s SKOCH Governance study. The State won 5 SKOCH Orders-of-Merit.
Key Achievements
The State has created a Single Window Clearance system that provides a single point interaction mechanism for entrepreneurs to interact with the State for seeking statutory approvals for their projects. It also provides an online portal to track application forms and clearances. There have been good initiatives to connect village Panchayats through Internet and also make government-citizen interface better.
Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) has introduced Online Consent Application Management System with an objective to bring efficiency, transparency, objectivity and accountability in the process. The Board has put in place a fully web-enabled solution for online submission of application, deposition of the requisite fee, online approval and issuance of digitally verified certificates.
In order to curb the social evil of female foeticide, the National Health Mission, Rajasthan has launched a programme called IMPACT (Integrated System for Monitoring of PCPNDT ACT). Pre-Conception, Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PCPNDT Act) has been enacted with an objective to curb the social evil of female foeticide.
To ensure safe childbirth Prasuti Niyojan Diwas is being organised by the National Health Mission. It is organised in the form of celebration and birth preparedness at all Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and sub-centres on fourth Thursday of every month.
