Highlights

• Tamil Nadu ranks #6 nationally in the SKOCH State of Governance Report 2023.
• A Total of 34 well-performing projects qualified for Deeper Study, out of which and 12 were impactful projects.
• State performed very well in 15 categories.
  1. Tops in Sanitation, Police & Safety and Handlooms & Textiles categories nationally.
  2. Has shown maximum improvement in Skill Development and Education.
  3. Consistent in performance in Power & Energy category.
  4. Participating first time in Geology & Mining and Housing categories and entered in the top 10 nationally.
  5. Recovers in Ease of Doing Business Category.
• District Governance and Ease of Doing Business submit a larger number of projects for evaluation. Out of these, several well-performing projects are qualified as highly impactful and impactful projects.
• Key achievements
  1. Tamil Nadu bags 34 SKOCH Orders-of-Merit in the SKOCH State of Governance Awards 2023.
  2. Almost half of these are in Health, District Governance and Ease of Doing Business categories.
  3. Four SKOCH Orders-of-Merit were in the Police & Safety category nationally
  4. Three SKOCH Orders-of-Merit were in the Agriculture category nationally.
  5. The state won 18 awards – seven in GOLD and five in the SILVER category.
