Andhra Pradesh Government has been putting a lot of emphasis on e-Governance and has taken a number of pioneering initiatives in the areas like municipalities, education and social justice and security. With nine SKOCH Orders-of-Merit, Andhra Pradesh is in PERFORMER category. The state bagged five awards. One award in Platinum and two each in Gold and Silver categories. Sector-wise, the maximum number of awards went to Municipal Governance. There were also impressive initiatives in the sectors like Education & Skill, e-Governance, and Social Justice & Security.
Several innovative steps have been taken by Municipalities in the state. Andhra Pradesh bagged six SKOCH Orders-of- Merit and three awards in Municipal Governance segment. One award went in Platinum and two in Gold category.
Tadipatri Muncipal Corporation has taken a number of initiatives for cleanliness and environment protection. To create eco-friendly, livable, healthy and pleasant atmosphere in the town and also to protect environment, the Corporation has taken up various initiatives like solid waste management, proper drainage system, liquid waste management, massive tree plantation, plastic waste management and rainwater harvesting. Keeping in view the uncertain weather conditions, Tadipatri Muncipal Corporation has put a lot of emphasis on tree plantation and other environment protection measures.
In order to provide quality services to the citizens in a speedy manner and help strengthen government’s drive towards effective governance and increase transparency, accountability, responsibility among the employees and for better management of social and economic resources for development, Tadipatri Municipality has introduced e-Governance system with e-Suvidha modules in property tax and tender system with e-procurement for engineering works and others in a phased manner. Guntur Municipal Corporation has implemented Government Project Management System (GPMS) – Mobile App & Web Cloud Solution for Works Monitoring in Municipal Administration.
Social Welfare Department has introduced an e-Governance initiative named JnanaBhumi focused on providing education facilities to marginalised sections, especially SC & ST. The system is a one-stop shop for the education ecosystem, built through a rigorous process of re-engineering, synergistic approach, integrating best practices and latest technology.
Department of School Education has introduced a comprehensive single window portal called School Education Information System. It has all the functionalities required for a School Education Department. All services such as Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), Mid-Day Meals are based on biometric attendance, distribution of free textbooks, uniforms, bicycles and other initiatives based on the above repository leads to fair, transparent, time saving and cost effective transactions.
